How it works
Upload a photo and the model reads its composition, lighting and likeness, then rebuilds every surface as layered, hand-carved cinnabar lacquer. It preserves your face, pose, framing and overall scene while translating forms into beveled relief, undercut recesses and ornamental carving, lit by raking light that reveals the carved depth. The output is a single high-resolution crimson relief image.

Frequently asked questions
Will I still be recognizable after the carving?
Yes. The face is carved in relief but the model keeps your proportions, hairstyle, expression and silhouette intact, so you stay clearly identifiable. It won't flatten your features into a generic mask.
Is this just a red filter over my photo?
No. It rebuilds the image as a sculptural lacquer object with layered depth, beveled edges, undercut recesses and polished highlights. The crimson comes from the lacquer material itself, not a color overlay.
What does it add to the background?
Empty or plain areas are reinterpreted as carved lacquer ground filled with ornamental scrollwork, floral and cloud-like motifs and layered relief texture — added to support your scene, never to invent new objects, text or logos.
What kind of photo works best?
A clear, reasonably high-resolution photo with good lighting and a readable main subject. Sharp portraits and well-exposed scenes carve into the most convincing relief.
Will it crop or change my framing?
No. Your composition, crop, perspective and aspect framing are preserved exactly — the model transforms the material and surface, not the layout.
Can I use the result commercially?
Yes — generated images on upsa are yours to use for personal and commercial purposes. We recommend you keep the consent and rights to the source photo as well, since the output preserves the identity in it.
How long are my photos stored?
Source uploads and generated results are stored for 48 and then automatically deleted from upsa's storage. We don't train any model on your photos.

Each generation uses a different random seed, so your result may not exactly match the example shown. If the first try doesn't fit what you had in mind, run it again — output differs noticeably between runs.
