What it does

Turns the subject into a clay-voxel character and the background into a swirling post-impressionist canvas. Pose, identity, and spatial layout stay intact.

Painterly Clay is a faithful artistic 3D repaint, not a filter stack. Under the hood it runs the same generative edit pipeline as Recreate, but with a prompt locked onto two coordinated jobs: render the subject as a handcrafted clay-voxel character, and reinterpret the existing background as a swirling post-impressionist canvas. The subject becomes a blocky, geometric voxel-like 3D form — simplified low-poly structure with squared facial planes — but full likeness is maintained. Identity, pose, expression, silhouette, framing, and proportions are preserved as a strict layout guide. On top of that geometry, a handcrafted clay/foam micro-particle texture is applied: dense, tiny bead-like or felted surface detail that reads as physical, hand-shaped material rather than glossy CGI. The background is reinterpreted, not replaced. Whatever spatial layout and depth your original photo had, it stays — the same room, the same outdoors, the same distance — but rendered with thick, directional post-impressionist brushstrokes, vibrant motion, and intentional artistic stylization. A separation rule keeps the painterly transformation strictly outside the subject: the background can swirl, but it does not bleed into the character's pose, geometry, or placement. Lighting follows the original photo: same direction, same shadow placement. The model adds a soft directional warmth and gentle falloff that matches museum-grade portraiture, but does not invent a new light source. The overall vibe is artistic, whimsical, handcrafted, museum-grade — deliberately not photoreal, not Pixar, not glossy CGI. Use it for collectible-style portraits, gallery-style profile pictures, art-driven NFT drops, illustrated cover art, and any place where you want a single image to feel like both a sculpted object and a painted scene.

When to use it

  • Collectible-style stylized portraits
  • Gallery-grade profile pictures and avatars
  • Art-driven NFT drops with handcrafted feel
  • Illustrated music covers, zines and book art
  • Boutique brand campaigns with painterly mood
  • Birthday or memory cards with museum-grade flair

When not to use it

  • Documentary or evidentiary use where photographic accuracy is required
  • Photoreal product shots or clean commercial imagery
  • Designs that need to feel realistic, glossy, or Pixar-style CGI
  • Use cases that need pore-level skin fidelity or lifelike texture

How it works

Painterly Clay runs the same generative edit model as Recreate but with a prompt locked onto two coordinated jobs: the subject becomes a blocky low-poly voxel character with a handcrafted clay/foam micro-particle texture, and the existing background is reinterpreted as a swirling post-impressionist canvas with thick directional brushstrokes. Pose, identity, framing, and original lighting direction are preserved. A separation rule keeps the painterly transformation strictly outside the subject. Results typically return in about 15 seconds on GPU infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions

Will the pose or composition change?

No. The reference image is treated as a strict layout guide. Pose, camera angle, framing, proportions, silhouette, expression, and identity are preserved. Only the rendering and the background style change.

Will my face still look like me?

Yes. Identity is preserved. The geometry is simplified into voxel-like blocky planes, but full likeness is maintained — silhouette, expression, and recognizable features stay readable.

Will the background be replaced?

No. The existing background is reinterpreted, not replaced. Spatial layout and depth stay the same — the same setting — but rendered in a swirling post-impressionist style with thick directional brushstrokes.

Will the painterly background bleed into the subject?

No. A separation rule keeps the painterly transformation strictly outside the subject. The character's pose, geometry, and placement are not affected by the background change.

Does it look photoreal or like Pixar?

No, deliberately. The model targets a museum-grade, handcrafted, whimsical look — not photoreal, not Pixar, not glossy CGI. Edges are clean, stylization is intentional.

Can I print or use the result commercially?

Yes. The output is yours — no watermark, no branding. Use it for prints, drops, marketing, or merch.

Where are my photos stored?

Photos are processed temporarily and auto-deleted within 48 hours. We do not keep copies and we do not train models on your photos.

AI results vary

Each generation uses a different random seed, so your result may not exactly match the example shown. If the first try doesn't fit what you had in mind, run it again — output differs noticeably between runs.
