What it does

Repaints your photo as a cozy paper-cut diorama — stacked cardstock layers, soft shadows and a thick white sticker-border around every character.

Paper Cut is a faithful papercraft repaint, not a filter stack. Under the hood it runs the same generative edit pipeline as Recreate, but with a prompt locked onto a paper-diorama aesthetic: smooth rounded shapes, simplified cute proportions, and minimal facial details — small dot eyes and soft blush cheeks — for a warm, charming look. The scene is rebuilt from stacked paper layers with visible depth and subtle shadows between layers, and clean cut edges that read as laser-cut cardstock. Identity, pose, expression, silhouette, framing, and proportions are preserved as a strict layout guide. The model does not recompose, crop, or change perspective. The defining trait is a separation rule: each main character gets a distinct white outer outline layer — like a thick sticker border or white cut-paper backing — that clearly separates them from the background. This white layer is treated as an intentional paper layer, not a glow or stroke filter, so the foreground always reads cleanly against the back layers. The palette is pastel: muted blues, greens, and warm neutrals, balanced and calming. Lighting follows the original photo direction but stays soft, diffused, and even, enhancing the dimensional paper layers without harsh contrast. Textures are matte and tactile, like thick art paper or craft foam — no gloss, no plastic sheen. The overall mood is cozy, wholesome, gentle, and storybook-like, with a playful yet polished handcrafted feel suitable for modern illustration, children's books, decorative art, or any place where you want a single image to feel like a real paper diorama you could hold in your hands.

When to use it

  • Children's book illustration and storybook covers
  • Cozy social posts and birthday cards
  • Brand mascots and friendly avatar drops
  • Decorative wall prints and nursery art
  • Sticker packs and merch with a paper-craft feel
  • Editorial spots for soft, wholesome themes

When not to use it

  • Documentary or evidentiary use where photographic accuracy is required
  • Photoreal product shots or clean commercial imagery
  • Designs that need to feel realistic, glossy, or high-contrast
  • Use cases that need pore-level skin fidelity or lifelike texture

How it works

Paper Cut runs the same generative edit model as Recreate but with a prompt locked onto a paper-diorama aesthetic: stacked cardstock layers, soft inter-layer shadows, clean cut edges, smooth rounded shapes and minimal facial details. A separation rule adds a thick white outer paper layer around every main character so they read cleanly against a pastel background. Pose, identity, framing and original lighting direction are preserved. Results typically return in about 15 seconds on GPU infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions

Will the pose or composition change?

No. The reference image is treated as a strict layout guide. Pose, camera angle, framing, proportions, silhouette, expression, and identity are preserved. Only the rendering style and palette change.

Will my face still look like me?

Yes. Identity is preserved. Faces are simplified into smooth rounded shapes with small dot eyes and soft blush cheeks, but recognizable features stay readable.

What is the white outline around each character?

It's a deliberate white outer paper layer — like a thick sticker border or white cut-paper backing — that separates each main character from the background. It is not a glow or stroke filter.

Will the background be replaced?

No. The existing background is reinterpreted as stacked paper layers in a calming pastel palette. Spatial layout and depth stay the same — the same scene — only the rendering style changes.

Does it look photoreal or like Pixar?

No, deliberately. The model targets a cozy, handcrafted, storybook look — matte and tactile, like real cut paper or craft foam. Edges are clean, stylization is intentional.

Can I print or use the result commercially?

Yes. The output is yours — no watermark, no branding. Use it for prints, drops, marketing, or merch.

Where are my photos stored?

Photos are processed temporarily and auto-deleted within 48 hours. We do not keep copies and we do not train models on your photos.

AI results vary

Each generation uses a different random seed, so your result may not exactly match the example shown. If the first try doesn't fit what you had in mind, run it again — output differs noticeably between runs.
